We wanted to include a voice over in our trailer to give the audience more depth within the story line. It would be the only part of the trailer that would not be included in the full film but we still wanted it to seem natural and almost as if it was part of it. We didn't want the voice over to give away too much information as we still wanted the element of mystery in our trailer but also wanted the audience to understand what was happening. Finding the right balance between these two things was hard at first but eventually we came up with this:
“It all started when we moved in.
There was this… this locked door.
It had no key and we couldn’t open it.
Then that night it all changed.
It opened and I could hear someone calling me, whispering from inside.
I didn’t believe it at first, I thought it was a dream but then it got worse.
The next night I saw her for the first time.
But I don’t know what she is… A demon? A ghost?
I don’t know, but what I do know is that she’s not friendly.
She wants to hurt me and cause as much pain as she can.”
